Contemporary Jewellery at Lido

_MG_2280-2.png

I create contemporary jewellery shaped by time, material, and continuity.
My work draws on ancient visual languages, reassembled through modern restraint.

The pieces shown here reflect an ongoing exploration of jewellery as a cultural object — something that carries history, movement, and human presence across generations.

Red Sea Coral Necklace

This necklace brings together bold disk-shaped coral beads from the Red Sea with smaller faceted lapis lazuli stones, creating a measured rhythm of deep red and blue. The composition draws on the visual language of nomadic jewellery traditions, where colour, movement, and material presence define the piece.

At its centre sits a silver disk, its surface frosted with a spiral pattern and edged with oxidised sides that create depth and quiet contrast. The spiral introduces a subtle sense of motion — a gesture that echoes both ancient ornament and the natural forms that inspire it.

The necklace is conceived as a contemporary object shaped by older material traditions: coral and lapis, stones that have travelled through trade, culture, and adornment for centuries. Their combination creates a piece that feels both vivid and grounded — jewellery that holds colour, history, and presence in balance.

Displayed here as a single work, the necklace reflects my continuing interest in jewellery as something architectural and enduring — made to be lived with, rather than consumed.
