Salonina Fragment Earrings
These Passage Collection earrings feature an ancient Roman coin, paired with a sequence of carefully selected gemstones in an asymmetrical composition.
The coin, discovered in Cambridgeshire, bears the profile of Salonina Augusta, empress during the reign of Gallienus (253–268 AD). Its surface remains visible, allowing traces of its history to sit alongside the surrounding materials.
Green prehnite, blue kyanite, and pink ruby introduce colour and variation, creating a quiet dialogue between past and present. Each element is individually set in recycled sterling silver, allowing light and surface to remain fully present.
Suspended from the ear, the earrings offer a balanced yet expressive presence — a small encounter with antiquity, carried into the present.
