Roman Glass Passage Necklace (Mixed Tones)
This Passage Collection necklace brings together a range of ancient Roman glass and stone beads, forming a composition defined by variation in tone, surface, and origin.
The beads, dating from approximately 3,000 to 500 years old and originating from the eastern Mediterranean, carry a diversity of colour — from muted greens and ochres to deeper brown tones. Their surfaces remain irregular and time-worn, allowing each element to retain its individual character.
Carnelian, jasper, and green garnet introduce further depth and contrast, while smooth and corrugated gold-filled beads provide moments of structure and warmth within the composition.
Worn close to the body, the necklace offers a layered and tactile presence — a gathering of materials shaped by time, brought into a single, balanced form.
